Very good atmospheric black metal album, especially Mare Cognitum's songs. However, the raw sound production makes quite difficult to distinguish every track, and M.S.'s vocals are barely audible. Nov 7, 2016

I had never listened to this band before, and I'm glad I came across Kodama. Reading the band's biography and some comments, it seems that they've become "softer", but I see nothing wrong in this. I've really enjoyed listening to this album. It features a strong post-rock sound and manages to create a very nice atmosphere. Nov 6, 2016

I think that Fuki does an astounding job in this album. Overall, Dragonvarius is a very good power metal album with excellent vocals, memorable melodies, catchy choruses, varied songs..., but, seriously, I can't stand those too long narrative speeches or dialogues throughout the record. Nov 3, 2016

Very good classic hard rock. For me, I Surrender is the best song on the album. Nov 1, 2016

This album features improved and different lead vocals and more captivating and gorgeous melodies. However, there are still a lot of dull speeches which, in my opinion, are absolutely unnecessary, and an unpolished sound production that should have been enhanced. Anyway, 遙かなる契り is much better than its predecessor. Oct 31, 2016

Overall, I consider the melodies and the instrumental parts to be very good and beautiful, but the poor sound production and vocal performances make 聖邪のドラゴン lose points. Oct 31, 2016

Iron Attack! need fresh ideas. 宇宙とファンタジー is not a bad album, but it sounds quite similar to many previous releases. Oct 26, 2016

It is understandable that in a demo recording quality production is not the highlight. However, this album has huge potential, a potential that Joe Hawker would display two years later in They Became the Falling Ash. Absolution|Emptiness is obviously not as good as its successor, but if sound production were to be improved (remixing, remastering...), this record would be unquestionably amazing. Oct 23, 2016

I really liked how the violin was used in some songs to reinforce the depressing atmosphere created throughout the record. In Ventus Est Dolor... is quite an odd gem, and I believe that funeral doom metal fans would enjoy listening to it. However, I'm not very keen on this genre, so I don't think that I will give this album a spin again. Oct 18, 2016

Not bad album, but I didn't like the "electronic" music in some songs. Oct 16, 2016

I thoroughly enjoyed this album. Some people complain because of its slow pace and the absence of memorable riffs. Well, that's not a problem for me. The tone of The Ninth Hour is very pleasant and Tony Kakko's vocals are extremely soothing here, in my opinion. It's true that this album lacks virtuosity and amazing instrumental solos, but well-crafted
songs and beautiful keyboards make up for it. Oct 13, 2016

This album didn't really convince me, although there are some beautiful moments in a pair of songs. I think that Romanian folk metal is not my cup of tea. Oct 9, 2016

Unnecessary instrumental versions, but good power metal songs (most of them included in その純舶に 赤き血を捧げ ~Raise a flag~). Oct 6, 2016

I normally dislike brutal death metal vocals, that's why I rarely listen to albums of this genre. However, I gave Abyss a try, and it was totally worth it. Although some songs feel a little repetitive, the instrumental part is simply sick and the vocals aren't disturbing at all. If you like this type of music and want to listen to some really heavy stuff, this album is for you. Oct 4, 2016

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
