Sinergy의 세 번째 앨범에서 돋보이는 부분은 역시 멜로디 라인이라고 할 것이다. 이전 앨범들에서도 그러한 특징 강하게 드러나고는 있었지만, 본작은 그러한 경향이 한층 더 강하다. 이는 아마도 Suicide By My Side가 제작될 때 Alexi Laiho의 성향이 강하게 반영된 측면이 컸을 것이라고 추측해 본다. 초기 Children of Bodom에서 들었을 법한 화려한 멜로디가 쉼없이 들려온다. Children of Bodom에서 들려주었던 것에 비해 짜릿한 맛은 덜하지만, 본작에서 Alexi Laiho 특유의 멜로디 감각이 잘 살아있는 듯하다. 그러다 보니 일반적인 메탈 보컬보다 멜로딕 데스 메탈 앨범으로 만들었으면, 더 좋았을 법한 기묘한 작품이 되어 버렸다. 개인적으로 본래 Sinergy의 앨범에서 이와같은 변화를 예감한 적도 없고, 바란 적도 없지만 그래도 만족할 만한 Suicide By My Side는 충분히 즐겁게 들을 만한 작품이다. 다만 위에서 언급했듯이 멜로딕 데스 메탈 성향이 강하게 나타나고 있어서 이도저도 아닌 작품이 되어버린 측면도 있다. 본작에서 차라리 Kimberly Goss의 목소리를 배제하고, Alexi Laiho가 그로울링을 들려주었다면, 더 괜찮은 작품이 되지 않았을까 싶다. 그래서 그런지 이전 앨범을 지지하던 이들에게 외면받는 작품이 되고 말아서 아쉬움을 남긴다.
