Blasphmemous! Sinister! Merciless!
Death Metal 의 방향성을 제시한 Band Death 의 "Scream Bloody Gore"는 논외로 하고 Death Metal Band 들은 한가지 공통점이 있다. 바로 정규 첫 번째 음반이 매우 잘 만들어졌다는 것이다. Band 의 색깔은 최대한 배제하고 순수한 Death Metal 에 대한 탐닉으로 가장 Death Metal 다운 음반을 만든다는 것이다. Deicide, Malevolent Creation, Obituary, Suffocation 등의 첫 번째 정규 음반이 그러했고 Massacra, Morgoth 등의 첫 번째 정규 음반이 그러했다. 다시 말해 Old School Death Metal 로 가치가 있다는 것이다.
이것은 바로 Bolt Thrower 의 첫 번째 정규 음반인 본작이 Old School Death Metal 로써의 가치가 매우 높다는 것이다. Thrash Metal 의 잔재가 조금씩 묻어나지만 당시 Producing 기법으로 순수한 Death Metal 의 분위기를 연출한 노력이 많이 보이며 육중한 America Death Metal 과는 다른 Europe Death Metal 특유의 완급 조절과 Overdrive 가 눈에 띈다. 누군가 Bolt Thrower 의 음반을 추천한다면 나는 첫 번째 정규 음반인 본작을 추천할 것이다.

과도기. 라는 말이 가장 어울리는 밴드,볼트쓰로워 의 데뷔작이자,이 밴드의 작품들 중에서 가장 돋보이는 작? 이다.하긴 이 음반이 나온 시기도 시기였기에,상당히 쓰레쉬 메틀 요소를 두루 갖추고 있으면서도,한편으로는 상당히 스피드함도 갖추고 있다.하긴 지금 모두 나이도 나이고 그렇지만,이 작품에서는 진정한 데쓰적으로 가기위한 허물을 벗고 있는중에 나온 작품이다.멜로딕컬함까지 두루 섭렵해서 인지 상당히 거북스럽지 않다는게 장점이다.

celkom podarený old school Death Metal s občasnými prvkami Thrash-u. Na dobu vydania je to dosť tvrdé, ale aj podarené album.

Really good first wave Death Metal album. I'm new to Bolt Thrower's material and if this is anything to go off of I'm looking forward to hearing more.

거친 사포로 대충 문질러 놓은 듯한 마감이 고막까지도 문질러 주는 듯 합니다. 스래쉬의 형태를 띄고 어지간히 쳐달려서, 정통 데스메탈 보다는, 데스그라인드 느낌이 진하게 나는 음악입니다. 구정물 뚝뚝 떨어지는 보컬도 다 때려 부수는 드럼도 인상적이네요. 뭉개지는 레코딩은 아쉽지만, 그 나름대로의 매력이 있기에, Bolt Thrower 의 팬에게는 꽤 즐거울 작품.
