Everything's very good: songwriting, guitar tone, genuine feeling. Easy to recommend. 15 hours ago

Screaming out "I'm alive" and listening to this album give the exact same feeling. Truly great music. 16 hours ago

That ray of sunshine on the cover should give you an idea of how it feels to listen to this. Some BM fans might feel there's not enough BM on the album. Keep an open mind; it's good music. 16 hours ago

I love the hellish atmosphere and vigor of this album. 16 hours ago
Cosmicism 90/100
I seriously needed to relax, and the wonderful atmosphere of this vicious album gave me everything I needed. A bit like 90s symphonic BM to my ear, it might be Borgne following the lead of their influences before finding ways to be more original just a couple of years later. Anyway, it's still as great as I expected. 1 day ago

Maybe about 15% metal, but overall I can enjoy it a bit because of the obvious effort that went into making the ambient soundscape intriguing. 1 day ago

Lucky that this deathgrind supergroup gets together, and holy %*#@$ that drumming. 1 day ago
Cosmicism 90/100
From the opening guitar tone, I just knew this was going to be great. The energy is amazing, and the drumming is astounding. A reminder of why I listen to Misery Index, and of why I'm fond of deathgrind. 2 days ago

First I want to say that track 8 is a full-on masterpiece. Now, this album will be a challenging experience for many listeners, but it's worth it to brave the strange, maybe unnameable, feelings and unconventional song structures. This album is really about something and it matches the theme musically. My pick of the day. Something worked out right with all those veteran collaborators. 2 days ago

Heavy insanity, and it sounds like it takes some serious skills to play these songs. Bonus respect for the Bosch allusion. 2 days ago
Cosmicism 75/100
Not the style I expected to hear and, to be honest, it doesn't hold together so well. It feels a bit awkward. Brittney's vocals keep this score from dropping to 70. Their later songwriting is so much better. 2 days ago

One of those big & omnipresent releases in recent post-rock. I liked it a bit a few years ago, but it impresses me much more now. Highly recommendable. 2 days ago

Is it cheating to raid the most legendary moments of classical music for your own metal album? Anyway, it's quite a journey, and this rendition of Chopin's piece is astounding. 2 days ago

The whole album is good, but a few parts are totally fantastic. Another high-quality release by Sidus Atrum. 2 days ago

Nice rousing pagan feelings from a very dependable & very busy artist. 2 days ago

A good place to start for Amiensus. It's listenable, but they did progress much further than this just a couple of years later. 2 days ago

Wow. This artist has been gaining experience for a number of years already, and it really shows in the swooning beauty of these melodies. 2 days ago

A contemporary classic of post-rock. I used to listen to this one often, and it has just as much substance to it as I recollect. Great to escape from vocals and just feel the flow of the music. 2 days ago

Yes it's heavy, brutal, & gigantic, but I just couldn't get so excited about it. Maybe it's more for metalheads partial to brutality. 5 days ago

Did you ever have a Slam Wednesday? Well, for me, there were some great examples of bands putting some real feeling & nuance into all the thunderous destruction. Also, though slam vocals are by design quite absurd, Analepsy makes them listenable & expressive too. Good work. 5 days ago

Here's the danger with all these glamorous cover models posing for these albums; if she's not my type I don't want to hurt her feelings, but I might not want the album because my sense of beauty is not so typical. Also, the instrumentation is excellent on this one. 5 days ago
Cosmicism 90/100
I'm glad this true gem showed up on Slam Worldwide. Often slam is fun, but with the thick atmosphere, and the good taste in vocals, I take this one a bit more seriously. The cover art is a super cool concept with execution that's a bit medium, but the music is quite high-tier to my ears. 5 days ago
Cosmicism 90/100
More passion than you could imagine on this powerful album that feels at once in dirty club somewhere but also in some fancy rehearsal space. There's a billion guest vocalists from crust and hardcore groups. Really genuine stuff from a bunch that believes in what they're saying. 5 days ago

Thanks to wonderfully mind-warping albums like this, dissonant DM is a very happening sub-genre. I can tell a lot of work & inspiration went into making this. Great cover too. Total class act. 5 days ago
Cosmicism 75/100
I like the style since it's similar to Cult of Luna & Julie Christmas's collaboration. However, I don't get into this Guhts album as much. The vocals feel more like performance art, which could be OK, but I just don't like it as much as some sludge fans might. It's still easy to hear how this is a fully capable band - maybe I'll like another album from them much more. 5 days ago
Cosmicism 75/100
I can imagine the nostalgia many fans must feel for when this was a brand new style, but most of these songs are too basic. Please vary some riffs & beats... maybe a key change or tempo change. Anyway, it is a super early release from a towering discography, so who am I to complain. 5 days ago
Cosmicism 85/100
I feel like each song has a purpose. Real passion behind these well written songs. One of many good Darkthrone albums. 5 days ago
Cosmicism 80/100
Barely anything grinding on this one. It's more like very angry and not melodic metalcore alongside 8-bit & 16-bit music. As far as that goes, it's pretty good. 5 days ago

I really can't wait for Distant Dream's new album and I was trying to find something similar. This album's pretty good. The like-but-not-love category. 5 days ago

6 days ago

May 5, 2024

1990년도에 대체 무슨 일이 있었길래... rust in peace, painkiller, spiritual healing, cowboys from hell까지... 7 days ago

4 days ago
