나는 디어사이드의 광팬이다.
보통들 호프만 형제가 있을 때의 디어사이드를 좋아하는 것 같지만, 나는 스티브 애쉬엠이 작곡에 본격적으로 개입하기 시작한 후기 앨범들부터 듣기 시작했기에 후기작들을 더 좋아한다. 특히 To Hell with God으로 디어사이드를 처음 접했고, 그 앨범은 여전히 내가 좋아하는 데스메탈 앨범 Top 5안에 든다. 사람들의 평가는 그렇게까지 좋지 못함에도 불구하고 말이다.
그 후 In the Minds of Evil이나 Overtures of Blasphemy가 나왔을 때도 평가가 엄청나게 엇갈렸어도 나는 그 두 앨범도 여전히 미친듯이 좋아했었다. 특히 전작 Overtures of Blasphemy는 내가 한동안 정신을 못차렸을 정도로 정말 좋아했다. 선공개 곡이었던 Excommunicated가 생각보다 별로여서 조금 기대를 접었었지만 다른 곡들이 오히려 너무 좋았어서 그 실망감은 기억에서 싹 사라지고 해당 앨범을 너무나도 좋아하게 되었다.
그래서 이번 앨범의 선공개곡인 Sever the Tongue, Bury the Cross... With Your Christ가 매우 실망스러웠음에도 불구하고 기대를 완전 놓진 않았었다. 분명 다른 곡들이 이 두곡보다 좋은게 꽤 있을거야. 디어사이드 클래스 어디 가겠어? 이런 불안속의 기대를 간직한채 디어사이드의 신보 발매를 쭉 기다렸다.

Some really good tracks here, no weak ones. Overall a good album, one of their best in the late era.

Just as good as the last two before it if not better. The riffs on this are some of their best since The Stench Of Redemption
