hudba na albume "Houdini" je občas schopná, aj keď sa nevyhne totálne slabým výstrelkom (ako napr. "Pearl Bomb", "Sky Pup", "Spread Eagle Beagle" - počúvať desať minút dookola trápne podobné búchanie je oničom), no najväčší problém u mňa je ako vždy strašne slabý kvázy spev Buzz Osbourne -ho. Naozaj je v tom netalentovaný a nedokázal to zlepšiť ani za tak dlhú dobu. Gitary majú dobrý zvuk, no z môjho pohľadu piesne nie sú ničím zaujímavé a vždy mi len pripadajú, akoby ich nedávno zložila začínajúca garážová skupina. No hudobnej stránke kombinujú Stoner//Alternative Rock a občasnými prvkami Punk -u alebo naopak Metal -u. No vôbec ma to neoslovilo, je to nudné, nedotiahnuté a zdĺhavé..

Respect to Melvins for this obviously influential album. Thank you Kurt Cobain for working with these guys. However, the last two tracks drag down the quality level a little for me. The rest of the tracks are only positive.

Another slog from the Melvins, boring Sludge that lacks atmosphere or mood.

This is a kind of anger which nibbles your nerves out slow and steady, like a creeping death(oopsy! It's not that you'd think of.).

Wow, this album is eerie. Not the bad kind of eerieness, though, since Buzz Osbourne does a perfect job on stripping Doom and Stoner Metal to their mere structure, without all the ornamental and superfluous bits. Have my explanation satiated your desire for a description? No? Then I guess you'll have to listen it for yourself!
