Iridescent

By far, my pick of the week. This thunderous and sometimes ethereal album has the best kind of songwriting for improving the reputation of the post-metal sub-genre. Here, the black metal and doom influences show up quite strongly and help them achieve some fantastically desolate soundscapes. The 2nd half is a bit less astounding than the first, so it's super close to being a perfect score for me, but still bound to be a highlight of 2024. Highly recommended.
