Tournament of the Gods - 2002

The greatest metal band of all-time. Many bands lay claim to the crown and thousands of fans take part in the debate. In 2002 Metal-Rules.com held an online tournament to determine the band that our readers think deserves to sit upon that lofty throne - the ultimate metal band! There were 64 bands in the tournament, representing all genres of metal, from Black Sabbath all the way to Nightwish. The bands were chosen by the Metal-Rules.com staff, so if your favorite band is not included, we're sorry, but we already had to cut some of our own personal favorites too!!!

We had to run this poll 2 times. The first run was aborted since it was full of cheating with some polls racking up 5000 votes! So we decided to only allow members of our forum to vote. A strict measure for sure, but at least the results are accurate. The problem is that ALL online polls are flawed. A simple change of IP or a deletion of cookies and you can vote 5000 times if you are loser enough!
