아르엔 엔쏘니 루카슨의 프로젝트 데뷔 앨범. star one과 다른 여러 음악들에서 그를 접했지만 명성에 비해서는 조금은 지루한 음악을 한다느 인상을 강하게 받은지라 이 음반에 대해서도 역시 같은 선입견이 많이 있던 상태로 음반을 청취했는데 결론은 역시나 이 음반도 다소 지루한 느낌이 든다. 종종 키보드와 기타리프의 환상적인 하모니가 인상적이기는 하지만 전체적으로는 아직은 좀 지루한 느낌이 많이 든다.
이후 앨범들의 모태가 되는 데뷔앨범으로서 의미를 부여하면 될것같으며 이후 나오는 앨범들은 나름 순항을 하고 있는듯하니 천천히 시간날때 다른 음반들을 접해봐야겠다.

Ayreon's first album "The Final Experiment" is great & unique musical experience. Music takes its main influences in the epic Progressive music of the 70s that can include electronic or folk sounds, intricate guitar melodies and amazing vocals. Album covers a big spectre from acoustic guitars to flutes, from epic female choirs to heavier growls and sounds to me very authentic and interesting.

A very fun concept album. Not very consistent, but has plenty of great moments, and is one of the first "epic fantasy concept story" albums in that vein.
