Botanist na novom albume "VIII: Selenotrope" ponúkajú Experimentály/Atmosférický a Ambientný Post-Rock, doplnený o šepot (alebo tichý spev) a občasné melodické viachlasné refrény. Gitary som tam vôbec nepočul, hlavnými nástrojmi sú klávesy, cimbal, energické (aj keď jemne nazvučené) bicie, atď. Miestami je to dosť jednotvárne, ale ako hudba v pozadí sa to celkom slušne počúva.
