Stranger in Us All

Better than whole JLT era. Some true gems but too many filler to really make this one of their best. Still decent final album.

not bad, "still im sad" is what made me like this album the most

"Stranger in Us All" is Rainbow's eighth studio album and achieved a marked success, particularly in Europe and Japan. Album was originally intended to be Ritchie Blackmore solo album, but due to pressures from BMG, it was billed as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, making Stranger in Us All the band's first studio album in twelve years.

A strong note for Rainbow to end on. It doesn't match their earliest material, but definitely above the few albums prior.

당시 주목을 거의 받지도 못해 기대치가 워낙 낮아서 대충 듣다 '어어.. 생각보다 괜찮은데? ' 하면서 다음에 듣다 또 생각해보면 레인보우 앨범중에 제일 완성도가 높은것 같기도 하고, 결론은 생각보다 훨씬 괜찮은 앨범입니다. 적어도 조 린 터너 시절보다는 훨 낫고, 비슷하게 10년만의 복귀작인 딥 퍼플의 [Perfect Stranger]보다도 더 좋은 앨범이라 생각합니다.ㅎ

Why this album is underrated

멜로딕하드락계의 명보컬 두기화이트와 함께한 앨범으로 레인보우의 과거 명반들과 비교를 하지 않더라도 앨범자체만으로 매우 듣기 좋다. 레인보우의 이름을 달고 나왔지만 블랙모어의 솔로 하드락 프로젝트의 느낌이 강하다. 블랙모어의 팬이라면 이 앨범과 블랙모어스나이트의 앨범은 반드시 체크하고 넘어가야 할 것이다.

원래는 리치 블랙모어의 솔로 앨범으로 나올려 했다는데, 음반사의 권유로 레인보우의 이름이 붙었단 말이 있더라. 그래서 내용물은 ....뭐, 그냥 블랙모어의 마지막 하드록 앨범이란 것에 의미를 두자..
