4. I Incursion II a Procession of Spectres (7:21)
1733 A.S.
The Library of Galmire in the antique world was known for its magnificent splendour and neverending corridors of written wisdom. It now serves as a section between this world and others. A threshold that is left uncrossed by the few inhabitants of the surrounding forests. As the Voyager cleans his blade and bathes in the glory of another horrendous foe defeated he recalls the initial purpose of his quest. The relics and mythical artifacts hidden somewhere inside the eldritch library should never fall upon the hands of the Holy Empire. It is indeed rumoured that the means to travel outside the existing realm of human reality would be buried inside, no doubt warded by strong magic or with something more sinister and strange. "When the mana-sustained revenant librarian unlocks an ornate bronze gate with a key of forgotten origin, he enters the ghostly Hall of cryptic knowledge, shunned from lesser beings. Conundrum-roots grow deep..."
In the sunken realm's crimson glow
He studies the lore of honour
Diabolism wrapped into thousand lexicons
To tame the multiverse
[Ghosts of Galmire]:
"Voyager, focus your senses to the otherworldly geometry of the south wall. Journey forward!"
Proportions beyond comprehension
Freakish curvatures in space
Abysses by no means vacant
Below the library lies a cemetery
Crooked staircase leads him...
Remains of blackest ceremonies
Greet a potential traveler
[Ghosts of Galmire]:
"Down to the nightside resting place devoid of warmth. Descend silently and with the utmost caution, for the eyes of the tombs are wide open, vigilant and eager to devour."
[From the withered notes of a Planar Prisoner]:
They possess entire villages
They procreate in burial gowns
They dictate the path of the poisoned soul
They arrive with the brass bells
They leave with the raven's song
They consume the tied black ribbons
They suffocate all remaining saints
They smother the sick daylight
We were the guardians of the casket
We washed away our grief
We were the psychics of the unquenchable fire
We ascended to the floating city
We whispered the words of our Lord
We immolated our senses
We impaled our hearts in servitude
We are them
