I arrived in somber mire swallowed by miasma so vile
Goaded out, the poison clouds poured from each of its nine mouths
Battle raged, hammered a head, was unfazed, two replaced damage

Slain – Nemea's beast, lion slain, in less than 30 days, so sacrifice wasn't made
Now wearing its mystic pelt, no blade, spear nor arrow be felt
Killed – Lerna's curse, hydra killed; careful to avoid its breath, a noxious threat
Now wielding its deadly blood no man, monster, mystery shielded – murderous!
I was born, Zeus' pride, Hera's scorn, failed infanticide
She didn't relent, aimed abhorrence, my family forever silenced
Madness gone, they all had died, blood on my arms, was horrified
Penance moored; well-being restored, if 12 labors, could be conquered
