They came to the assembly to declare what they had seen
Complaining unto Moses that it was an ugly scene
They said "We'll never do it; they're too many and too strong
If we go up against them we will not last very long!"
But Joshua and Caleb said, "The land is very good
The food they've got is excellent; there's heaps of burning wood
There's milk and there is honey; it's the best we've ever seen
And with our God beside us we can take it all, you'll see!"

The Lord was very angry at the way they carried on
And so their generation died and rotted in the sun
The children had maintained their faith and waited patiently
For forty years the Lord had made them travel aimlessly
But when the doubters all had perished, each and every one
The faithful men rose up to fight and take the land they'd won
