4. Idolatrous Tendencies (7:10)
Never forget the heritage of tendency
Ungrateful and loathsome is the nature imprinted upon the human beast
The beast will not yield, nor can it yield to any authority
For its tendencies are contrary to the sovereign will
The hand that feeds, within the decayed maw of habitual spite
Thanksgiving and praise is easier cast upon etched stone then unto
Jehovah Jireh
The beast has foolishly forgotten the face of its provider
Blinded of the fact that the caring hand can suddenly alter its course
Tightening its grip around the neck of insolence
O house of Israel, why do you persist to rebel against the Lord your God
The ox knows its master's voice and the donkey knows its master's crib
Yet, you stand before me as a sottish and absent-minded people
Am I not the one that delivered your forefathers out of mizraim with an outstretched arm
Was it not I that fed them in the wilderness
All my affectionate approaches in courting were futile
Like wild asses in heat, they fantasized a return back to their former romantic escapades
Nothing new under the sun, nothing
O Israel you are a stiff-necked people, prone to routines of infidelity
A nation known to cry out to its idols at the first attestation of calamity
Your dead paramours will loom over your coming lamentable tribulation with unseeing eyes
Their meritless companionship will deny you all forms of alleviation
Shall you continue to swear blind allegiances as you're sold out to the ungovernable disciplinarian
Where will your gods be when humanoid faced locusts greedily devour your fields
Cry out to them
Woe to you with child, for your end will be the cruelest of cruelties
Recollect the least of my commandments, you shall not take the mother with the young
A common courtesy that I've prescribed even to the most diminutive of sparrows
To your dismay, the alien insurgency has never tasted the simplistic honey that is my Torah
Your lives shall be snuffed out
Your entreaties will be as a whimper, a communication of distress
A love language that serenades the predatory instinct
Be cognizant of your own caesarean section
Watch as your embryonic fluid cascades forth
Harshly dissociating your naked and feeble infant from the caress of motherhood
Left unceremoniously in the calloused hands of moral destitution
Cry out to them
Where will your gods be when you're cannibalizing your own infants
Yet, through all of this, one falsification still remains throughout your echo chamber
I shall know no duress, my lovers shall deliver me
Once climaxed in your state of despondency
Your kicking of the pricks will concede to the wrestling of my Ruach HaKodesh
Through trepidation the genesis of wisdom emerges
I wound, I heal, I kill and I make alive
Return to me O Israel and I will announce a homecoming
At twilight, I will slaughter the fatted calf
Because of your father's lustful horseplay, I placed before them a choice
Blessings and curses, life and death
O wayward and lost generation
I present to you the shame
Blessings and curses, life and death
I will not make void my word
Visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations
