My most played album # 71. Styx - The Grand Illusion. The seventh studio album was released on July 7, 1977. It all came together for this album, their best album cover, Dennis DeYoung’s best song “Come Sail Away” peaked at #8, Tommy Shaw’s best song "Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)" peaked at #29, James "JY" Young‘s best song “Miss America”. The title song is another great hit! Overplayed but I still love it! I did not help, I played it to death in my teens, still one of my most played albums. It sold 3 million copies, peaked at #6 on the charts, sometimes I like popular stuff.

My most played album #238. Styx - Pieces of Eight. I was kind of unhappy with this album when it first came out. I wanted heavy Styx. They gave me "Aku-Aku". "Renegade" took over the radio and packs the dance floor! "Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)" that rocked and owned the airwaves. Great White Hope a great song but did not get much airplay. Pieces Of Eight and Sing For The Day... Read More

My most played album # 33. Styx, Equinox! "Light Up" One of my favorite songs, this should have been the stoners anthem! "Suite Madame Blue" finally got some airplay a few years later when the Grand Illusion became a top selling album and it would become an American anthem. "Born for Adventure" is a great song and story about being young and wild. It was my anthem back in the d... Read More
