Stormchild Reviews

I have seen the original single on Gate Records advertised for sale for anything from £100 to 300 euros so getting this EP re-issue is a bargain at $24-$25, but as it is a limited run expect it to start shooting up as soon as the stock runs out.
This is every bit as good as the original with the added bonus of three extra demo tracks on the B side.
As far as the A side is concerned, much has already been written about Stormchild and Chosen Few, all of it good which is why it has become a must have for any serious metal collector,
The B side is purely a bonus, The sound is muffled in places as you would expect from demo recordings lifted off cassettes (remember them). The weakest track is probably "Night Stalker", ironically the only track not produced by the band. There is a later and better recording of "The Light" on the Omega Album "The Prophet" where it has been re-named "The Child", and "Midnight Train" sounds very much like an early incarnation of the song when you compare it to the (much) later version on Apocalypse's recent album "Abandon Hope".
That said, this is worth the price just for the A side which allows die hard fans without deep pockets the opportunity to own this classic.
