This album is special and monumental in black metal history because it was one of the first albums that pushed black metal in this hybrid direction combining avant-garde, prog and folk elements. The people who stick to the purest form of black metal might not like this album. But, to me, this release sounds evolutionary. Especially the second track, En Skikkelse I Horisonten, and the fourth track, Englers Piler Har Ingen Brodd, are the beauties.

멜블과 포크인지라 누군가에겐 시고루자브종일수도 있겠지만 때론 이기 1995년도에 나왔다는기 믿기지 않을 맨키 오늘날 포스트 블랙의 갬성도 초울트라급 만땅이라 1994년과 1995년도에 과연 블랙에서 무슨일이 벌어진 건지 파도 파도 끝이지 않을 명반이 계속 쏟아져 때론 미스테리하기까지 하네요 ㄷㄷㄷ

고전 블랙 메탈인데 21세기 블랙 메탈의 원형이 보인다. 게스트로 여성 클린 보컬과 베이시스트를 섭외했는데, 기존 블랙 메탈에서 잘 안 쓰이는 요소를 극대화해 참신하다. 기타 클린과 키보드도 더해 여러 복잡한 요소가 있음에도 번잡하지 않게 잘 묶은 명반이다.

앨범 전반적으로 통일성은 뚜렷하지가 않지만, 복잡하게 들릴 수 있는 요소들이 나름 유기적으로 결합된 모습이다. 내게있어 자주 돌릴 앨범은 아니지만 본작에서 시도한 다채로운 색깔의 곡들, 음악적 시도들 등이 좋은 인상으로 남겨졌다.
