Midnight Odyessey 는 2007년 호주에서 전 Tempestuous Fall, The Crevices Below, Aeon Winds 의 맴버인 Dis Pater에 의해 결성된 Atmospheric / Ambient Black Metal 밴드이다. Aeon Winds 은 주로 기타위주로 만들어졌다면 이 밴드는 화려한 키보드를 주로 이용한 밴드 라고 할수있다. 이는 2008년에 첫데모를 제작을 했을때 부터 상당한 인기를 끌어모인 밴드이며 2011년에는 정규 1집을 발매를 하였고, 주로 우주와 관련된 주제를 이용을 하여 별칭으로 Space Black Metal 이라고도 부르기도 한다. Midnight Odyessey 가 들려주는 블랙메탈은 지상에서 방황하는 한 영혼의 이야기를 다룬다고할수있다. 죽어서도 어디론가 가지못하고 지구라는 절망속에서 방황을하다 별이 되기 위하여 하늘 그리고 창공보다 더 높이 올라가 끝없는 우주로 날아간다고 할수있다. 빛이라곤 전혀없고 끝없이 펼처지는 어둠만이 자신을 반길뿐, 비록 저 멀리 별이 있더라도 그곳을 향해 손을 뻗을수 없는 끝없는 거리. 다시 돌아갈려해도 너무 멀리 와버러고, 결국에는 우주라는 이 무한의 공간 어디선가에서 무(無) 으로 사라지는 영혼의 슬픔을 알린다고 할수있다. 전작 Funerals From The Astral Sphere 자연과 우주의 슬픔을 나타내면서 생명이라는것이 태어나도 기다리는것은 죽음이라는 '염세' 에 관련된 이야 ...
