very good album by Paradise Lost. This band is a legend of the genre and has influenced a large number of bands.

Really beautiful moments from start to finish. I can't find anything negative to say about this album. Some of their other albums feel more powerful to me, so I'll give it a 90 to leave space for the ones I liked even more.

너무 어둡고 느릿하고 무겁고 파워풀해서 잠시 머뭇했다. 앨범의 섬 모양은 닉 홈즈의 보컬 성향을 그림으로 표현해준듯, 폐부를 뚫는 스크리밍과 염세적 나긋한 생을 다 포기한듯한 평보컬을 오고가며 고뇌스런 세상사를 노래하고 있다. 세련된 고딕/둠/블랙적 요소와 정통메틀적 사운드로 꽉찬, 더 이상 뉴메탈적 사운드는 개나 줘버린 명작.

고딕메탈의 진의를 찾아 이 장르 저 장르 방황을 하다 되돌아온 곳이 시작점이었단 느낌. 역사적 의미를 차치하고 볼 때, 나한텐 이들의 앨범 중 최고는 역시 이 앨범이다. 무엇보다 클린 보컬링이 드디어 거부감 없이 들리게 되었다.
