What. An. Album. Is it super weird? Yes. Are parts of it a joke? Yes. Is it super good regardless? Absolutely. “Melodic Deathcore” is the only way I can describe it. There are some really nice clean choruses, but there are some brutal gutturals and some of the most crushing breakdowns of the year. Even the lyrics are deep and emotional, atypical of a lot of modern deathcore. This might be one of the heaviest albums of the year, but it’s also an extremely well produced, well recorded, and well written album from a melodic standpoint. Rivals some of the best albums released this year.
