그 옛날 앵글로색슨족의 전투는 이러하였나보구나를 어렴풋이 짐작 할 수 있게 해주는 분위기와 냄새가 진동합니다. 멜로디도 잡고 분위기도 잡은 나름 탄탄한 수작으로, 다소 뻔했던 전작들에 비해 유니크함까지 갖추고있습니다. 영국문학의 위대함은 익히 알고 있었으며, 그것을 아이언메이든의 대서사에서 몇번이나 느꼈는데, 본작도 한 몫 거드는 듯 합니다.

일관성과 다양성을 모두 갖고 싶어 하는 욕망의 앨범. 뜬금없이 나와서 벙찌게 하는 곡들이 더러 있지만 상당히 좋게 들은 곡들도 있음. 전작보다 단순 순박해진 리프에 전장에서 승리한 후 귀환하는 느낌의 의기양양한 멜로디와 고대 잉글랜드 서사시를 연상케 하는 보컬라인이 잘 어우러진 앵글로색슨 멜블랙
