dĺžkou sa to skôr radí k EP, aj keď je to regulárne radové album. Po hudobnej stránke je to opäť kombinácia hlavne Industrial -u s Alternatívou, čiastočne aj Electronic / Noise Rock a opäť Ambient. Z môjho pohľadu bol najsilnejším albumom NIN - The Fragile, pričom ich fanúšikovia vnímajú ako najlepší album z roku 1994. Aj keď som to viac krát počúval, vôbec ma to neoslovuje a posledné albumy NIN sa čím viac vzdiaľujú počuteľného vplyvu Rock -u. Opäť mi rôzne rušivé zvuky / hluk vadia, chýba tiež výraznejšia štruktúra piesní a zaujímavejšie nápady. Aktuálne album vnímam skôr ako netradičnú hudbu do nejakého underground disco klubu. Zároveň opäť nevýrazné využite gitár a nevýrazný hlasový prejav - skôr akoby len hovorené slovo s miernym pospevovaním (akoby len pre seba).

This album does a fantastic job at emitting a well-defined mood and just soaking you in it for 30 minutes. Very post-rock, ambient, and art rock vibes here. I suspect some people find this boring and others find it genius. The genius element is there and probably hard to pick up on, so it's not for everyone but it's quite an accomplishment.

NIN의 초기작들과 특히 다운워드 앨범에 감명을 받은 팬들에게 본 앨범은 어떤 느낌으로 받아들여 질지 내심 궁금하다.
그의 창의적이고 혁신적인 사운드의 연장선상으로 받아들여야 할지 이젠 인더스트리얼 메인 필드에서 점점 멀어지는 레즈너의 음악적 성향을 계속 지켜봐야할지 고민이다

짧은 러닝 타임이 너무나도 아쉽지만 사운드에 집중하면 마치 어두움에 빨려드는 느낌이 든다. 그리고 색소폰의 추가와 트렌트 레즈너의 새로운 창법을 보면 데이빗 보위의 유작의 영향을 받았다고 짐작할 수 있다.

Isn't it funny? Rock/Metal music nowadays is shrinking as possible as it can, but people are still debating-oh, I mean fighting about whether some are true music or not. Yeah it's true, NIN isn't metal. But does that fact make sense for rating it 40 points without 'listening'?
