스웨덴 태생의 밴드 Bloodbound는 정통 헤비메탈에 기반하여 파워 메탈을 양념처럼 뿌린 스타일의 밴드 중 하아나다. 북유럽권, 특히 스웨덴에 이런 스타일의 밴드가 유독 많은데, 이 밴드 출신의 보컬리스트 Patrik J Selleby에 대한 관심으로 ShadowQuest는 찾아 들었던 팀이다. ShadowQuest의 이름으로 발표한 첫 앨범 Armoured IV Pain은 Bloodbound의 음악 스타일과는 일정부분 차이를 두고 있는 모습을 보이고 있다. 이 앨범 또한 Bloodbound와 마찬가지로 정통 헤비 메탈과 파워 메탈의 경계에 있는 음악을 들려주고 있는데, 무게 중심은 Bloodbound보다 정통 헤비 메탈에 기운 모습을 보이고 있다. 그 결과 멜로디 라인에서 좀더 무게가 느껴지고 건조해진 경향이 엿보이지만, 대신에 선굵은 리프가 뚜렷이 나타나는 그런 음악을 들려주고 있다. 파워 메탈을 좋아하는 이들에게 Bloodbound보다 매력을 어필할 요소가 적지만, 헤비 메탈을 선호하는 이들에게는 ShadowQuest기 점다 매력적으로 들릴 것으로 보인다.
