An Unexpected Guest Lyrics

He was walking in the darkness
wrapping tightly in his cloak
against the cold rain falling in the harshness
of an early winter’s night, howling wind from the heights.
Suddenly, atop the steep path, the lone house by the ash tree
appeared and quickening his step he took the track,
in his eyes a sudden glee...
And the woman inside heard the sudden knock at her door
and the man showed up, he said:
“I’m a storyteller and I brought to you
a magic book, it’s your gift and
when you touch it will be completed to
retell the tale of your own life, till the end of time
and nothing from your life will hide”.
The young woman smiled to her guest,
bowed her head and took the gift.
The book was wrapped in leather, of the finest
and she felt so bound to it, but then suddenly
she saw the lines of light from her hands
and new golden signs now shone.
From inside the pages in her hands she saw
herself, a child, her eyes shining.
Images and feelings were conjuring from
the magic book, but when she looked up the man was gone,
with her gift she’d been left alone.
Looking from the top of the hill above
to the stone house he was smiling.
He had not revealed to her the secret of the magic book.Every time the book is held in her hands
it would rewrite, a new future
would spring out, begotten by her own command
and showed to her.
But he was not allowed to reveal
or else the magic would be sealed.
