The apologist contorts in anguish. Pursuing a distorted whisper of a long dead untruth like a dog forever chasing its own elusive tail. His head twisted around like the damned soothsayers in inferno, unable to look forwards. Desperate to prove the absurd as rational.
His faith, those privately held beliefs, are of less importance than public vindication. Faulty presuppositions used to stem the tide of enlightenment with falsehood. Truncating the aeons of prehistory into mere figments of creation. Literal interpretations of biblical allegory favoured over the study of evidence.
Braying conservatives deny their ancestry with shameless mythopoeia. Sardonic, and barely able to conceal their arrant sciolism.
How heavy the monotheist’s burden of explaining evil. Preaching benevolence and omnipotence in a world surrounded by injustice and suffering. Abortive arguments of free will and original sin ring false, along with the wilful ignorance of skeptical theism, negating morality.
The lamentable cries of cancer ridden innocents and tortured children echo through their hollow platitudes.
