The Sanctuary of the Great Gods
bursting at the seams with sacred taboos
revelations only destined

she urged us to preserve in marble

Cybele warned us of a dire future
where our lips forever sealed, unable to teach the world

We laughed and averted our gaze
we did not comprehend her prophecies;
but our symbols lost their meaning
becoming mere shells

behold our proud Nike
now beheaded and alone
no more than a trophy to those unaccustomed to her ways
