Twisted Sisters는 84년 앨범 Stay Hungry를 통해 엄청난 성공을 거두었다. 이 앨범은 이전에 발표했던 Under the Blade와 You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll보다 팝적인 요소를 더 많이 담아내면서 어마어마한 수익을 벌어드렸다. 이 앨범의 성공은 Twisted Sisters을 고민하게 만들었던 것 같다. 좀 더 팝 음악 지향적인 방향을 추구할 것인지, 아니면 밴드가 초창기에 갈구했던 순수한 헤비 메탈로 돌아갈 것인지에 대해 말이다. 그 결과 나온 앨범이 바로 Come Out and Play인데, 이 앨범에서 밴드는 어느 한쪽을 추구하기 보다는 뭔가 이도저도 아닌 어정쩡한 스탠스를 취하고 있다. 초기 활동의 산물인 록 스피릿이 살아있는 몇 곡에 라디오에서 인기를 끌 법한 팝 록이 이 앨범을 양분하고 있다. 당시에는 마침 Twisted Sisters는 인기가도의 최첨단을 걷고 있었으니, 이 앨범도 제법 상업적 성공을 누릴 수 있었다. 하지만, 앨범은 골드 인증을 받으면서 급격하게 팬들의 관심을 잃어버리고 말았다. Twisted Sister prevé štyri albumy vydali v ročných rozmedziach, pričom "Come Out and Play" nadväzuje a pokračuje v štýle predošlých albumov. Hudba naďalej využíva kombináciu Heavy Metal -u s Glam/Streed Rock -om.

주문을 외우듯한 신비스러운 웅얼거림으로 시작하는 타이틀곡부터 신나게 달려준다. 트위스티드 시스터는 역시나 흥겹게 달리고 모든 시름을 잃게 하는 듯한 신나는 멜로디가 돋보인다

팝적인 성향이 강한 몇 곡, 롹스피릿이 충만한 몇 곡, 특유의 비장미가 느껴지는 곡을 적절히 배치하여 장기를 뽐내는 듯 하나 무언가 이루어지지 않는, 그래서 안타까운 앨범. 한곡씩은 다 좋은데 앨범으로 들으면 조금 부족하게 느껴진다.

신나면서도 뭔가 진지함도 묻어나는 글램 메탈. leader of the pack, i believe in rock 'n' roll, be chrool to your scuel 이 특히 좋았다.

확실하게 이끌어주는 한곡은 없지만.. 전체적으로 안정된 수준의 앨범.. 참고로 "The Fire Still Burns"는 Cradle Of Filth가 리메이크한 곡이 훨씬 좋다..
