This time Aran just astounded me even though I was betting it would be very good. Listening again, I find this haunting album even deeper. It's also extremely well crafted: the ambient moments and slower moments are all the perfect length, the field recordings are lush & sensory without overstaying their welcome, and the instruments all have the optimal timing for bringing maximum levels of melancholia. Absolutely my pick of the week.
