블랙메탈 역사상 최고의 밴드 중 하나인 Inquisition의 2024년 신보 Veneration of Medieval Mysticism and Cosmological Violences는 이들의 이름값을 제대로 하는 앨범이다.
멜로디는 다채롭다. 지난 앨범에서 감미롭게 표현한 대자연에 대한 경외감이 생생히 살아있다.
다만 레코딩과 프로덕션에서 문제점을 많이 보여주는데 지난 앨범보다 훨씬 뒤처지는 조악한 음질은 실책으로 읽힌다.
전작이 워낙 뛰어난 명반이었기에 신작의 작품성은 기대보단 낮다.
다만 못들어줄 정도는 아니고 질주감 넘치는 정통 블랙메탈의 사악함은 잘 품고있다.
이들의 전매특허인 키보드의 황홀함도 나쁘지 않게 잘 조화됐다.
99%의 쓰레기 블랙메탈이 넘치는 현 시점에서 1%에 해당되는 이들의 신보는 가뭄의 단비다.

I'm not a fan of this style and it didn't appeal to me. A few good parts, but mostly Inquisition's music is beyond me.

믹싱 상태도 정말 이게 구질구질한거 같으면서 아주 입체적인거 같기도하면서 아주 신비롭게 들리고, 사운드도 멜로디를 과다하게 첨가한 느끼한 멜블랙도 아니고 적당히 잘쳐져있고 뭐랄까, 정말 어디에서도 들어본적없는 이들만의 아주 유니크한 블랙메탈 앨범이다.

Inquisition na albume "Veneration of Medieval Mysticism and Cosmological Violence" ponúkajú Black metal s občasnými prvkami Heavy. Nie je to môj štýl, avšak patrí to medzi lepšie na BM scéne. Podarené sú gitary, nepáči sa mi vokál (blackový rev) a občasná monotónnosť.

진정한 컬트. 공간감있는 아스트랄한 분위기와 대우주의 공허함 광활함 어둠에 대한 숭베, 영혼을 울리는 초자연적인 느낌을 내는 듯한 황홀한 멜로디는 여전히 환상적이다. 특히 3,4,5번곡의 흐름은 그저 단순히 본능에 충실한 사운드의 쾌감만이 아닌 정말 '음악'으로서 그 컬트적인 감성에 빠져들어 더욱 심취하게 하는 곡들이다.
