Vinland Saga는 Leaves' Eyes의 디스코그래피에서 손에 꼽아야할 작품으로 여겨지고 있다. 이 앨범에서 Leaves' Eyes는 심포닉 메탈과 파워 메탈을 축으로 여러요소들을 결합하였다. 여기에 네오클래시컬 요소, 고딕적인 분위기, 그리고 서사적인 전통을 중시하는 흐름들이 모여서 Vinland Saga를 이루고 있다. 이 모든 요소들은 풍성하고 인상적인 사운드를 만들어내고 있다. 앨범에서는 노르드 신화의 장엄한 신화를 다루고 있는데, 이는 이 주제에 익숙하지 않은 리스너라도 감상에 그리 큰 지장은 없다. 비장한 오케스트레이션과 강력한 기타 리프는 심포닉 메탈에 익숙한 리스너라면 얼마든지 즐겁게 들을 수 있다. 다만 템포가 느리고 반복적인 경향을 드러내고 있는 트랙들이 주를 이루고 있는지라 다소 지루함을 유발하는 경향이 있음을 부정할 수는 없겠다. 직선적이고 강렬한 느낌의 메탈 음악을 선호하는 사람에게 이 앨범은 그리 선호되지 않을 소지가 크다. 하지만 역사와 신화적 요소가 결합된 에픽 메탈이 익숙한 리스너라면 그러한 부분을 장애로 받아들이지 않을 것 같다.
