Leprous의 처음 들어본 작품은 정규 앨범이 아닌 데모 앨범 Aeolia이었다. 이 앨범은 고작 데모 앨범에 불과한 작품이었음에도, 이미 밴드의 역량이 드러나 있었다는 점에서 의미심장한 작품이었다. 나중에서야 이들이 Emperor의 Ihsahn이 기용하여 백 밴드로 데리고 다니던 밴드였다는 사실을 알게 되었다. 그러하니 날고 기는 뮤지션의 눈에 띌정도로 실력은 이미 갖추어졌던 밴드였다는 소리다. 당연히 이들이 좀더 준비를 갖추고 제작한 앨범에서는 데모 앨범에서 보였던 다소의 난잡함, 그리고 부족했던 프로듀싱 등의 문제를 해소하고 말쑥한 모습을 갖추었다. Leprous의 데뷔 앨범은 신인 밴드의 신선함보다는 중견 밴드의 노련함이 돋보이는 작품이라 할 수 있을 것이다. 고전 아트 록부터, Dream Theater풍의 프로그레시브 메탈의 터치, 데스 메탈의 터프함까지, Tall Poppy Syndrome에는 여러 장르도 솜씨 좋게 혼재되어 있다. 메탈러들에게 노르웨이는 익스트림 메탈의 성지로만 인식되는 경향이 있으나, 사실 노르웨이 메탈씬을 지탱하는 또하나의 축이 바로 프로그레시브 메탈씬이다.
