이 앨범에서 터져나오는 미친 절망감은 표현할 수 없는 앨범이다. DSBM을 좋아하는 입장으로써 아주 듣기 좋은 앨범이다. 역시 DSBM계에서 손 꼽힐만한 밴드라 그런지 역시 다르다.

That last track is amazing, but the whole album is full of good musical ideas and the drumming is pure gold.

여전히 샤이닝만이 할 수 있는 전매특허 디프레시브 블랙메탈을 들려준다. 전작과의 다른 점이라면 클린보컬 사용 빈도가 많아지고 4번 트랙처럼 합창(?) 느낌나는 곡이 있는 등 새로운 시도도 엿보인다는 점이다. 샤이닝 셀프 타이틀에 걸맞는 준수한 신작.
