9. When Tomorrow Never Comes (7:56)
Heart beats like a pendulum swings,
Sine-wave decays from the first ring.
From alpha to omega,
Transient life in hindsight that you should have spent better.

Sand falling through an hourglass,
With every grain representing a moment from the past.
Like all good things this must come to an end,
Ever looming dread that realization of death lends.

Old ties converge, from the cracks they emerge.
Broken relations brought closer, all seeking their closure.
Searching within yourself deep to carry the weak,
Unified they bleed, brought together by their grief.

The void in your heart that is left by the vacancy opened from the dead.
A maelstrom of emptiness,
Echoes in my hollow chest.
Watching over day by day,
Like a vulture in wait to reap the final day.
Praying for that final dream,
Falling into an eternal sleep

Coming to terms with how transient life can be.
Like an extinguishing star in the sky,
Soak in the flickering sway of the sun's final rays.

Personality fades away,
The brain like a hard-drive being slowly erased.
Limbs go limp and speech it slows,
Losing bodily functions in life's final echo.
Eyes go still becoming a vacant stare,
A last breath leaves the mouth to a room of despair.
The room is filled with a unified silence,
A sad reflection to those who have fallen.
A family unified in grief,
But thankful that their loved one is now pain free.

Coming to terms..
Like an extinguishing star..

Sand falling (sand falling)
Through an hourglass (through an hourglass)
Like all good things (like all good things)
It must come to an end (it must come to an end)
