4. Inhaled Through the Body (Chapter II) (6:09)
For forty days I manufactured mother of pearl, ambergris
And jasper for ornaments for my body
And in the night I would pray like it was some kind of
A sacrificial feast
Through my body's two contrasts
I inhaled the soul of the world
I would enjoy myself
And drink the nocturnal forces
Until a dark and sombre
Knowledge raised in my heart
I knew that I was alone, the last of my race
I saw that Dorval's fate was placed in my hands
I would undertake this fate and bring the extreme definitive offer
When my first act was performed
I broke of my forehead's horn
For a long time an ache would endanger
My sense and my like
But the forces of darkness could offer
The necessary protection
An eerie whisper with an accent
Encouraging my intellect
Urging me softly to obey
The ancient alphabet
Slipping through a crack in my memory
I came to the opposite side
Entering a fabled world
Of lost dreams and primal eras
Like this the first act
Of the ritual was completed
Slowly and laboriously
Metamorphosis was accomplished
Through the bleeding wound on my brow
I would soon realize how
I knew that I was alone, the last of my rage
I saw that Dorval's fate was placed in my hands
I would undertake this fate and bring the extreme definitive offer
And jasper for ornaments for my body
And in the night I would pray like it was some kind of
A sacrificial feast
Through my body's two contrasts
I inhaled the soul of the world
I would enjoy myself
And drink the nocturnal forces
Until a dark and sombre
