What has become of the sons of men?
They seek only for their own
Flesh defiles flesh, blood runs deep
The mystery beyond the scroll

I see what has past, I know what remained
The ancient darkness
That time cannot restrain

Why was this done?

The sons have descend to
spawn corruption:
The seed which defies
To create in their own image:
The perversion of mankind

Standing, alone, through fire and rain
The prophet proclaims his final refrain:
"Judgement will fall, forsake
this vain power
For the Spirit will not strive
and the waters will devour"

With every thought and every deed
I see the pride within the hearts of man
Standing for they which they know not
Slaves to their eyes, slaves to their hands

Subdued in deceit, captive to their lust
They scorn to forsake, with violent disgust

Why?

I see the darkened clouds descend
Upon the once sublime
First traces of begotten beauty
Pierced for the evil of mankind

Standing, alone, through fire and rain

The scroll shows anguish
beyond what I can bear
Will my tears be added to
the coming storm?

I feel the earth shake, the
tumult of awakening
The words are coming to pass

The ground breaks beneath my
feet as the sky begins to fall
The waters rise higher; the
mourners see their fate
I hear cries all around
Desperate screams for that
which they have scorned

To the far horizon I see the prophet,
upheld and no longer alone
