Vandroya –
Beyond The Human Mind (2017) |
100/100 Sep 20, 2023 |

Vandroya is a complete gem of a band and this album is every bit as good as their first, if not slightly better. Daisa is the main attraction and she is incredible as always, one of the best singers in metal history (maybe in history overall if I'm being honest), and I think she sounds even better here than on One. I'm not a huge vocal harmony person in general but these are the best implemented and sounding harmonies I've ever heard in my life. The drummer is also very talented and I think the drum parts in every song on the album are very strong, and the band's guitarists are also very impressive and, even though they don't have as many lead parts as in the first album, they play great lead here and some of those solo sections are just incredible. The strong structures aren't as unique a s the last album but it doesn't take away from how good they are, especially the vocal, lyrical, and riff improvement. The strongest songs for me are You'll Know My Name, Maya, Last Breath, and The Path to the Endless Fall, but there is not a single song here that even comes close to resembling a weak point. Truly all killer no filler ... See More

Vandroya –
One (2012) |
100/100 Sep 20, 2023 |

This album and band is just a complete gem. Daisa is the main draw of he band and she is easily one of the most talented singers metal has ever seen. But the other aspects of the album are also fantastic. The song compositions are all strong and the album is filled with great song structures, implementation of synth/piano, harmony, keys, and more. And although Daisa is everyone's favorite band member the drum parts on this album are awesome and the lead guitar is great. The standout of the album for me is definitely the threepeat of No Oblivion For Eternity, Within Shadows, and Anthem For The Sun, but I love all the songs on the album. If I had to pick weak points they would be Change The Tide, which is a fantastic song but the second singer on Vandroya album version (there is a recording of this song the band members did with Soulspell which is a significant upgrade) is not very good, and also This World of Yours, but both are still great. ...
