Zed Yago의 멤버로 두장의 앨범을 발표한 기타리스트 Olaf Lenk는 Oliver Hartmann와 함께 Centers를 조직하여 역시 두장의 앨범을 내놓은 뒤, 완전한 라인업의 밴드로서 At Vance를 결성한다. 돋보이는 완성도를 지닌 데뷔작 No Escape로 지명도를 넓힌 이들이 발표한 두 번째 앨범이 본작 Heart Of Steel 인데, 데뷔작에 비해 헤비함이 강조되어 있으며 반면에 바로크 어프로치는 다소 줄어들었다. 거칠고 중후한 뛰어난 보컬력을 지닌 Oliver Hartmann의 활약으로 가벼움을 찾아볼 수 없으며 앨범전체를 휘감는 애상적인 선율은 중세적인 장엄함도 내비친다. 특별히 떨어지는 곡없이 고른 완성도를 보이는 명반으로 데뷔작과 마찬가지로 Olaf Lenk이 프로듀싱하였다.

인터넷 초기 락스테이지 스트리밍 시절 아바 커버곡으로 인지도를 높혔던 밴드. 2000년도 발매작임에도 불구하고, 다소 올드하고 영세하게 느껴지는 부분이 있는데 그럼에도 B급으로 들리지 않는 것은 이 밴드를 하드캐리하는 보컬 Oliver Hartmann의 중후하고 비장미 있는 음색의 매력 덕분일 것이다.
