Bloodbound는 데뷔 앨범부터 거의 한결 같은 스타일을 고수해 왔다. 정통헤비 메탈과 파워 메탈의 경계를 아슬아슬하게 유지하는 이들의 노선은 양자 모두의 입맛을 꽤나 만족시켜온 바 있다. 복잡하기 보다 직선적인 구성에 멜로딕한 전개를 이어가는 이들의 방향은 제법 괜찮은 반응을 얻어왔다. 하지만 안정적이었던 밴드의 노선은 다섯 번째 앨범에서 변화를 보이기 시작한다. In the Name of Metal에서는 이전 앨범처럼 사운드가 균형 잡혀있지 않다. 헤비 메탈과 파워 메탈의 경계에서 이 앨범에서는 헤비 메탈로 무게가 쏠려 있다. 그 결과 정통 헤비 메탈에 가까워지면서 좀더 선명한 리프가 귀에 더 잘 들리게 되었다. 대신에 귀에 쏙쏙 박이던 멜로디 라인은 앨범의 전면에서 살짝 물러선 모양새를 보이고 있다. 여전히 In the Name of Metal에는 Bloodbound 특유의 유머와 편안한 즐거움을 추구하는 것을 멈추고 있는 것은 아니지만, 이전 앨범에 비해서 조금은 딱딱해 보인다. 개인적으론 이러한 노선보다 좀더 파워 메탈 라인을 강화하고 멜로디 라인을 좀더 드러나는 방향을 지향하길 원했지만, 본작에서 보이는 방향도 나쁘진 않게 생각하고 있다.
