어설픈 에픽함은 때론 편두통을 낳는다. Moongates Guardian 의 1집입니다. 이 밴드의 리뷰가 상당히 조심스러웠고 데모, 이피앨범까지 두루 들어보고 또 들어봐도 꼬리를 무는 밴드는 단연 Summoning 의 꼬리같았습니다. 허나 초반의 지루함을 많은 수작업을 혼자 했을테니 그럴만도 하지만 파트의 흐름을 부자연스럽게 끊어먹는게 이 밴드의 흠점이면 흠점이라고 보여지겠습니다. 하긴 꾸준히 있는것도 감사하지만, 후반기 작품에서도 보여지는 보컬파트의 부조화는 다듬어 져야 할 듯 싶습니다.

Their first full-length, but good and professional-sounding. What impressed me is how good of a cinematic feel they achieved. It sounds like it belongs as a score to a major film.

위대한 Summoning의 영향력을 그대로 다 흡수해서 만들어진 음악. 반지제왕 에픽을 표현하기 위해 온갖 노력을 다한 점은 높게 평가할만하나, 그 의도대로 이뤄지지 않은것 같아 아쉽습니다. 사운드는 웅장한데 체감으로 받는 느낌이 조금 약합니다. 결국 이들은, 넘을 수 없는 산이자 존경해 마땅한 Summoning이 이뤄낸 업적의 추종자, 수혜자, 피해자 모두인 셈입니다.
