My most played album # 51. The Who - Quadrophenia. "Can you see the real me? CAN YOU?" A story of when Charlie Brown hits puberty. Poor kid, last at work, last in the clubs and with the ladies. He is always running at someone's heel. Even his psychologist thinks he is shady. Kicked out of the house and on the streets in the rain a rock opera of desperation. My top Who album because it is the heaviest. It’s the album that stretches Roger Daltrey's vocals the best and allows Pete to riff the hardest. Total masterpieces; 5:15, Love, Reign O'er Me, The Real Me and Drowned. Great songs; Quadrophenia, The Punk and the Godfather, I'm One, Sea and Sand and Bell Boy.

The density of this album is very big but it doesn't flow right. Some good songs and a good trip in overall. However the songs individually are not strong enough (except for Love Reign on Me, Sea and Sand and a few others)

당시 밴드가 워낙 성공해서 각자 개인 스케쥴이 생기고 따로 노니 차기작 작업을 못하는 상황에서 다시 뭉쳐서앨범을 만들고 싶다는 타운센트의 열망이 담긴 느낌. '4중인격' 앨범에서 부르짖는 the real me는 4명이 모여야만 진짜가 된다는 속뜻이 아닐까. Hidden Gem은 Doctor Jimmy. 앨범 전체적으로 암시된 멜로디가 노래가 되는 "Is it me for a moment? The stars are falling." 부분.

이 형님들 음악에서 느껴지는 그 짙은 영국냄새를 좋아합니다. 록오페라 같은 길고긴 컨셉을 선호하지 않는데 그냥 The Who를 듣는다는 일념으로 기분좋게 감상할 수 있습니다. 클래식하고 근본있는 모드 사운드를 뿌리부터 열매까지 핥기에 제일 좋은 밴드입니다. Tommy 와 Who's Next 의 감성을 그대로 잇는, 즐길거리 풍부한 브리티쉬록 원재료맛 살린 풀코스 대잔치.
