Maiden's first album to incorporate synthetic elements. It turned out to be a great album. Not better than their previous work. But still amazing. That soft dynamic in "Infinite Dreams" is amazing. One of Maiden's best songs. I love how Bruce spells out the words in "The Prophecy". Great track, the second best on the album. Moochild has a timeless intro, but the music after that is kind of average. The Evil That Man Do has a great chorus. All in all, it's a great album, and it kept Maiden on top even in 1988.

This isn't the tired glam sound that everyone knows from those boring bands in the scene. I like the ballad "One Way Ticket", it's not at all like that cheesy pop thing. "Bitch Is Back" captivates me with some amazing guitar work too, as does the last track "Down in the city", whose opening guitar riff caught my attention. The whole album is fire. Shoot for Thrills is the only "not so good" track. They know how to make a catchy chorus too. The first one "Show No Mercy" is kind of sticky as hell.
Electric Gypsy also has a great chorus. The album is amazing.

Amazing work. I can't really put this album into one category. I know Grand Magus started out as a Doom Metal band. But this album is pure and classic heavy metal, and of great quality. The songs were made to make an impact and stick in your ears. The chorus of "Glory To The Brave" echoes in my head to this day, the final part when there's only the voice of Janne Christofferson give me chills. Jane is an amazing composer and singer. His unique voice is the highlight of every Grand Magus album. The guitar work are amazing here. The guitar solos are spot on. Grand Magus is currently the band that can make anything and I'll clap and hear every song.
"To Live and Die in Solitude" is hit too. Another good chorus.
"He Sent Them All to Hel" made me travel in the melody and verses. Great track to sing along with a catchy chorus too. Man, and the solo is outstanding.

It's good to see Angra on top again. I was happy when I heard that this work was well received. However, the album didn't captivate me as much (just like most of Angra's work from the last decade). But I understand that the musicality is good. I like Fabio's voice on some of Angra's old songs, like "Carolina IV", "Heroes of Sand", etc. But I feel that his vocals don't fit this new Angra.
I've never heard about Vanessa Moreno, who sings "Here In The Now", a good track for me, by the way. Great artist.
Tears of Blood with Amanda Sommerville is also a good song. It seems that each track with a guest appearance was thought to be amazing.
"Faithless Sanctuary" is also interesting. A lot of changes and reminds me a little bit of old Angra.

The band's sound seems to maturate since the first albums, not that it's better than their previous work, but it's a more open and varied album that involves elements of prog alongside with a great amount of blues and hard rock. Some songs like the poppy "Mine All Mine" and "Source of Infection" don't do the album justice, but the other songs are solid enough. Special mention goes to "AFU" and "Cabo Wabo". But the best tracks were yet to come:
"Feels So Good" is really nice to listen to. It has a cool prog vibe.
"Black and Blue" is amazing. That groovy sound gets me every time. The best songs for me.
"A Apolitical Blues" is a decent blues song.
