My 92nd most played album.. Tora Tora - Surprise Attack. The first full length album that was released In 1989. Amazing blues metal that peaked at #47 on the charts. Two singles were released, "Walkin' Shoes" and "Guilty." Great songs include; “Love's A Bitch”, “Phantom Rider” and “Riverside Drive”. Tora Tora started out as a local garage band then eventually got studio time when they won a local Battle of the Bands contest. The band recorded an independent EP, the songs "Phantom Rider" and "Love's A Bitch" received extensive airplay on local radio station Rock 98. My band was in the studio doing a demo recording our version of Walking shoes from Tora Tora. It was brand new. This guy came in, bought the band dinner and booze. I was taking a break while the other guitar player was recording his parts. This guy was asking me all about songwriting. Everything I told him he said you guys are amazing. Wow I was never treated so nice. Then he found out Walking Shoes was a cover, not ours. Ooops he left mad and slammed the door behind him! Hey we never claimed this was our song. He thought he discovered the new Beatles and he was going to be the next Brian Epstien. No question this is some really great music.

Terrific debut by a very underrated band.

This band falls in the underrated category no doubt. The debut album by the band named after a Van Halen song, rock with their bluesy rock n roll sound out of Memphis, Tennessee.
