Part III - A Drop to Quench the Thirst Lyrics

1. The Word Bearer stood amidst his followers, trying to make them understand the Great Revelation, when one of them asked him this: “Oh great Word Bearer, how are we to stand alone against the hordes of ignorance? We are few and we cannot possibly do anything to spread the word”.
2. To this, the Word Bearer answered: “know this adept, for your journey has been long and you are to be trusted as few will ever be. You represent Humanity's future, the ideal into which mankind will evolve. But you are still weakened by doubt, and lack the mental strength needed to face the dangers of the journey ahead. But if the old race were to be permitted to develop free and unprotected, the whole of Humanity would soon be destroyed. We few who are privy to this truth have guarded it selflessly for millennia; it is our sole concern, for the very future of our race depends upon us, and us alone”.
3. Silence reigned after the Word Bearer's words, as his followers absorbed the truth in them, as the thirsty grass absorbs the first rains of the season. After a while, one of them said: “it is thus then that we are the chosen ones, is it not?” to which the Word Bearer replied: “All of those behind us are a stumbling block to us, for they do not have in mind the things of a God, but the things of a men. If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for the truth will be saved.…”
