Part IV - We Are the Theotokos Lyrics

1. One night the Word Bearer gathered his disciples and said: "you have asked for guidance, and guidance you shall receive. Listen to my words and keep them close to your heart of hearts, so that you may repeat them when in need".
2. He then kneeled on the ground, and with his face touching the ground he said: "This of You I ask; tell me truly Lord, Which artisan made light and darkness? Which artisan made sleep and wakefulness? Who at dawn, noon and dusk Instils the discerning person with purpose? How did we become in thought and word and deed separate, chosing ignorance over wisdom? We are beings of not-being, the highest Spirit muded with the lowest flesh. Grant us your purifying flame! Let us burn in the all-consuming fire of your Truth! Help us become the God-bearers, so that we may give birth to a new humanity!"
3. He then stood up, and looking at his disciples he said: "We bear witness to the great change to come, for remember that we are that change. We bring a God into existence solely with our very defiance to this wicked prison, and we are that God! Hail the Theotokos!
