Part VII - A Path Through the Silence of the Soul Lyrics

1. One night, when the Wordbearer returned from his daily meditation in the desert, he said: "Thus it is written in the Black Chalice: Look upon yourself and let all the darkness of your soul expand before the beam of true Gnosis. Let it fill you with unholy power so that it will open to you the treasures of thy wisdom.
2. All your desire is known unto it, therefore perfect what it hast begun, and what its Spirit has awakened us to ask in prayer. Turn thy face unto it and let it show its glory.
Then shall thy longing be satisfied, and thy peace shall be perfect.
3. Oh Darkness! Take away from me the heart of flesh, and give me a heart of dark flame, a heart to love and adore thee, a heart to delight in thee, to follow and to enjoy thee. Thou hast given us thy Word for a light to shine upon our path; grant us so to meditate on that Word, and to follow its teaching, that we may find in it the light that shines more and more until the perfect day; the day when we will rise from this mortal coil into your eternal embrace. Thou are the true sovereign, our hope and our only salvation."
4. After his words there was a silence that covered their minds and souls. "The path is clear now in front of us, those who fear life and not death will follow it to the very end, through the nine circles of hell that surround us at every turn. Let it be so!
