여러 밴드를 찾다보면 이따금 앨범 커버가 맘에 들어 듣게 되는 밴드가 가끔 생긴다. Heralds of the Sword의 앨범이 그런 경우다. 커버를 보면 이 분야를 대표하는 Rhapsody of Fire가 연상되서 보자마자 그냥 지나칠 수가 없었다. 앨범의 내용은 앨범 커버처럼 판타지적인 느낌의 연주가 진행되고 있다. 곡들의 멜로디와 구성도 괜찮고 연주 또한 전반적으로 준수한 편인데, 그중에서도 키보드가 가장 귀를 끌고 있다. 앨범의 중세 판타지 느낌을 자아내는데에는 키보드가 가장 큰 지분을 갖고 있다. 다만 아쉬운 것은 보컬이 성량은 좋은데, 녹음 상태가 다소 불량하여 목소리가 붕 뜨고 있다는 사실이다. 본작은 괜찮은 데뷔 앨범이 될 소지가 있었던 작품임에도, 질적으로 떨어지는 레코딩으로 청자에게 아쉬움을 남기는 결과물만 양산한 사례가 되고 말았다. Chronicles of Tyrinthia는 정규앨범이라고는 하지만 데모 앨범 느낌이 나는 작품이라는 평가가 적절할 듯 싶다. 다만 후속작에서 부족한 부분이 개선된다면 좋은 작품 활동이 기대되는 밴드였지만, 본작을 끝으로 Heralds of the Sword의 다음 앨범 제작 소식은 들을 수 없었다.
