An album that at times sounds like glam metal (like the incredible track “Run” and the impeccable “I Can’t Help Myself”), as well as moments with that traditional classic heavy metal. The album shows Diamond Head's incredible ability to reinvent itself even after years of hiatus.
The first song "Starcrossed" brings a more modern sound, a heavy metal closer to what metal bands from the 90s did most often. Tatler brought this to light excellently. It's not the best track, but it would definitely be in the top 5 of the best tracks on the album.
"Truckin'" is also amazing. Tatler's riffs alongside Harris' vocals, a symbiosis that once again results in excellent work, are the track's trademark. Tatler did very well.
"Damnation Streets" is the best next to "I Can't Help Myself". I can't decide between the two, but the groovy sound of the first is surreal. One of those songs I could easily listen to for hour
The glam metal sound in "Run" is amazing too, the guitar riff is catchy and good vocals here too. One of the best tracks.
The other tracks are good, but not enough. Still, great album in general.
Best ones:
1 - Damnation Streets
2 - I Can't Help Myself
3 - Truckin'
4 - Run
5 - Starcrossed
Not the best ones:
- Home
- Wild on the Streets
- Dust

My most played album #944. Diamond Head - Borrowed Time. 1981, The second studio album. First release on a major label MCA records. Metallica covered their song "Am I Evil?". The album went to No. 24 on the UK album charts, the band's only album to chart. "Lightning to the Nations" was the title song to the first album but was included on the second album because the first albu... Read More

My most played album #195. Diamond Head - Death and Progress. Metallica used to do several Diamond Head songs in their set in the early days. They put a couple of Diamond Head songs on Garage days inc. This is an amazing album loaded with great songs nobody ever heard. Diamond Head was hard to find in the store, I just got their albums Lightning to the Nations and the new album... Read More

My most played album #247. Diamond Head - Lightning to the Nations. In 1980 growing increasingly impatient the band decided that they would release their material through their own label, Happy Face Records. The album was recorded within seven days at The Old Smythy Studio in Worcester, This album came in a plain sleeve with no title, having on it only a signature of one of the... Read More
