Album of the day #3. Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Guns N' Roses' "Appetite for Destruction" is an iconic debut album that combines hard rock, punk and glam metal in an original way. Axl Rose's voice and the band's energetic playing create a unique atmosphere that conveys the danger and rebellion of 80s Los Angeles. Songs like "Welcome to the Jungle", "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Paradise City" are deservedly rock classics, but the album's material as a whole is not of equal quality. Even though it's a strong and ground-breaking debut, the unevenness prevents the record from becoming an all-time great. Axl Rose's vocal performance and Slash and Stradlin's guitar work elevate the album's highlights to the top of rock and make it a memorable work.
Climax: Paradise City, Sweet Child O' Mine, Welcome To The Jungle, Rocket Queen
Anticlimax: You're Crazy, Anything Goes, It's So Easy

My most played album #375. Guns And Roses - Use Your Illusion 1. 7 times platinum, released on the same day as Use Your Illusion 2. The band only released 2 albums up to this point then released 2 albums in one day both double length. (the equivalent of 4 albums). I'm still surprised a record executive or two did jump off a bridge during this week in 1991! Best songs "November ... Read More
