A very good second demo from the Portland, Oregon based black metal band, Nightmare Effigy.
Very good example of what modern black metal should sound like, and is not as heavily overproduced as loads of new albums from older black metal bands (for example the new Darkthrone album and Daemon by Mayhem).
Dark Procession - Proving you don't need shit tones of distortion for a good intro, sets up the album very well. One of the best instrumental album intros in all of metal in my opinion. 95/100
Paranoia Under a Dying Sun - An amazing example of what modern black metal should sound like, not overproduced (like i mentioned before), has a good ass guitar solo and also has great vocals. This song is my favorite on this demo and 2nd favorite by Nightmare Effigy so far. 100/100
Waking Night Terror - Another great example of modern black metal and how good the modern underground scene is. 95/100
I would 100% recommend giving this demo a listen and at only about 11 minuets if you don't like it, it wont be too much of a time waster (even though i think it is worth listening to definitely.)
You can find it on Bandcamp or on YouTube.
